In Romanum (Roman name Ioannes Hibernicus) I am Seán of Tara, in the land of Hibernia. I am a Brehon (a judge who is learned in the law). I met Emperor Hadrian when traveling in Britannia. We had a secret affair and I followed him to Rome. Once here, I found that Hadrian was steadfast and true to his beloved Antinous, even after Antinous died. But I stayed in Rome, as I could not resist its atrraction as the centre of civilzation and power.
