"Within the circle of each man's sword" say the Codes of the Warrior, "Therein is each man a Ubar."
"Steel is the coinage of the warrior," say the Codes, "with it he purchases what pleases him."
"A blade is judged not by how often it leaves its sheath, but by the restraint of the hand that carries it."
"Few men are remembered for the battles they win. Fewer still for the battles they prevent."
Ronan DelSol is a Warrior of the Red Caste serving the Port of Teletus, a man whose life has been measured not by victories, but by the passange stones earned through unwavering discipline. From swearing himself to the Home Stone, to standing as a recruit beneath the scrutiny of veteran warriors, to finally earning the scarlet cloak and brass helm of a full Warrior, each step has been purchased through service rather than privilege. Every watch stood upon the walls, every patrol through the streets, every report written, and every citizen protected has forged the man he is becoming.
Born of the House of DelSol and raised beneath the discipline of Arian tradition, Ronan believes the strength of a warrior is found first within his character. Law before vengeance. Duty before glory. Peace before war. He stands watch over Teletus with tireless vigilance, understanding that the greatest triumph of a warrior is often a city that never knows it was in danger. To him, the Home Stone is not merely defended by steel—it is protected through presence, discipline, and the willingness to stand when others would falter.
Though still young among many seasoned Free Men, Ronan has earned the respect of his fellow warriors through quiet professionalism rather than loud boasts. His words are measured, his reports meticulous, and his actions deliberate. Those beneath his protection find reassurance in his steadfast nature, while those who would threaten the peace quickly discover that silence should never be mistaken for hesitation. Steel is always his final answer—never his first.
The scarlet cloak was never his destination, only another stone upon the path. Ronan now looks beyond his own accomplishments toward greater responsibility. The watch comes first, followed by the advancement of the City Watch through the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and, should the Home Stone ever demand it, one day Commander of the Warriors. Each promotion represents not authority over others, but greater accountability to them.
Away from the walls and watchfires, Ronan remains a man of uncommon restraint. Having fulfilled the vows of his youth, he now embraces the freedoms earned by a full Warrior with the same discipline that carried him there. He is slow to drink, slower still to indulge temptation, believing that mastery over oneself is the greatest victory any warrior may claim. Those fortunate enough to earn his trust discover a quiet humor beneath the stoic exterior and a loyalty that endures long after words have faded.
Trust remains among the rarest gifts Ronan offers. It is earned through action, strengthened through consistency, and broken only at great cost. He believes every oath binds the soul, every command carries consequence, and every decision echoes beyond the moment in which it is made.
For Ronan DelSol, the journey has never been about reaching the next rank.
It has always been about becoming the kind of man worthy of wearing it.
