People demand loyalty and obedience while denying the very conditions from which they arise. Loyalty cannot be commanded, nor obedience made virtuous through fear; both are gifts freely given to those who have first proven themselves worthy. To seize what must be earned and call it justice is a quiet violence against the human spirit.

A foundation is not made stronger by breaking the stones beneath it. What is built upon trust, respect, and conviction will endure long after monuments raised by coercion have crumbled into dust. For fear may bend the knee, but only faith and honor inspire one to stand beside another of their own free will.
