A part of him likes pain. It occurred to me that while it was not intentional, that there will always be a side that feels restless without it. It is like Jake, who always feels bored if there is too little, who when hit with a burst of sudden intense feeling ends up breathlessly wondering why he'd just wasted a few days not hurting himself more. He likes to watch Jake break apart, likes the feeling that there is no escape from it and he can see it in Jake's eyes that he knows this.
