My advice:
1) Read the books.
2) Make sure Gor is for you.
3) If you find that Gor is for you, then
3A) Go to as many sims as possible, to see what best suits your style.
3B) Figure out whether you want a lifestyle or roleplay sim.
4) Find the people with which you want to interact.
5) Play your Avatar as the role you've chosen within the sim you've chosen, with the people you've chosen.

Keep it simple. Don't be stupid.
