Rhenak Varrus

Rhenak of Turia was born in the shadow of the great southern walls, where dust from the desert winds met the precision-cut stone of civilization. His father was a Merchant, but young Rhenak showed no interest in counting coins, instead, he traced the lines of Turia’s towers with a stick in the sand and rebuilt them in miniature.

At twelve, he was apprenticed to Master Builder Tersidon, an aging but brilliant Low Caste architect known for designing Turia’s elevated aqueduct systems and public courtyards that aligned with solstices. Tersidon taught him more than angles and materials, he taught that the Builder’s Caste is the silent spine of Gor: unseen, but holding cities upright.

Rhenak quickly mastered not just structural mechanics, but also urban planning, mathematical mapping, and fortified design. He traveled with caravans to study the contrasting nomadic styles of the Wagon Peoples, returning with insights on both flexibility and strength in architecture.

By his thirtieth year, he was entrusted with the redesign of two districts in southern Turia following a series of foundation failures during flooding. His balanced approach to load-bearing structures and his use of southern stone and baked brick brought him quiet fame.

Stoic, exacting, and fiercely proud of his caste, Rhenak believes each line a Builder draws is a line of defense , against time, chaos, and ignorance. He now works independently, taking on commissions only where he believes a city respects its castes and its stone.
