Kvedulf's life began in a wandering tribe, free and wild. However, this freedom was brutally stripped away when slavers ambushed her people, dragging her into a world of servitude. The journey to the Southern city was a harrowing introduction to her new reality, and upon arrival, she was plunged into the rigorous "breaking" process. Unlike the ceremonial training of the North, her Southern masters focused on direct, physical conditioning, instilling absolute obedience, practicality, and the complete abolition of her former self.

Kvedulf's days were filled with relentless labor, domestic training, and lessons in the art of pleasure and submission, all designed to erase her independent spirit. She learned to shed her name, to speak only when addressed, and to accept her new identity as "this Kajira," her body now solely her master's property. Though the training was brutal, Kvedulf's desert resilience allowed her to endure, emerging as a Southern-trained Kajira known for her unwavering loyalty and quiet stoicism.
