Osiyo. My name is Ahyoka Tayanita. Ahyoka means “she brought happiness,” a name given to remind me to carry joy wherever I go. Tayanita means “Young Beaver,” symbolizing diligence, creation, and the strength of steady work. I am a proud daughter of the Cherokee Nation, born among storytellers, hunters, and leaders — shaped by the teachings of those who walked before me.

I was raised in a home woven with laughter, discipline, and love. My father, Chief of the Long Hair Clan, taught me the meaning of courage and honor. My mother, graceful and wise, taught me to care for both hearth and earth — the rhythm of the home, the song of the soil. My grandmother and great-grandmother whispered the old stories, the healing ways, and the quiet magic that lives in the breath of our people.

Yet even in a life steeped in tradition, the world beyond has its own calling — a voice that beckons from the unknown, asking you to carry your roots into new soil.
